The 300th One

LISTEN TO THE EPISODE!!!

In the 300th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave are back together after her jaunt through the Mediterranean!  It's a news and conversational episode this time around, catching Jenn up on all the things she missed.

First, Jenn is back, with a quick highlight of her trip (more to come soon), and Dave's full review of "Toy Story 5" - The plot, how it fits in the Toy Story franchise (and do you have to see the TS4?) and yes, yes, it should have ended after part 3, we all know this.

Then, a look at the new Level 99 in Disney Springs - what it is, where it is, and figuring out the details in real time.  And then a look at the new Universal Kids Resort in fantabulous Frisco, Texas... and the online reaction.

Then, a review of previous stories, getting Jenn's take on the returning breakfast in the France pavilion.... the Eat to the Beat lineup and why the dining package is important... losing the Gingerbread House (and theories on the possible future of it)... and of course, the reaction to Disney's announcement about Disney Springs Parking, and multiple uses of the word "Kerfuffle".  Plus, Disney finally clarifying some vague details, and more questions.

Finally, why we do what we do - what we love about travel planning, what we love about our jobs, and some of our fave travel planning moments, and some of our biggest guests over the course of 300 episodes!

And on our way to the next 100!!!

Ep 281. The One Revisiting Stacey & the Must Dos

LISTEN TO THE SHOW

In the 281st Episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave are working on borrowed time as they are both getting set for the annual gathering of Upon a Star friends in Disney World!

First up, Jenn is doing her packing, while Dave tells the story about Southwest that had him fuming... then how the Lovely Wife solved the problem.

Then, a quick look at Fast & Furious in Universal - the bad (Fast and Furious Supercharged) and the hopefully good (the Fast & Furious Roller Coaster) coming in a few years.

And then they look back to 2020, when Stacey Aswad came on the show (for the first of two appearances!) and we revisit our conversation with her, discussing everything from crying in movies and fashion to starting in voice overs and roller skating and of course, how she got started with Disney and some behind the scenes fun.

Hope you enjoy looking back at our convo with the legend that is Stacey from the Must Do Disney days, and let us know if you want to hear her on the show again!

Ep 280. The One with Galaxy's Edge and Wizarding Worlds

LISTEN TO THE SHOW!

In the 280th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave are ready to chat about the Wizarding World... but first, the Star Wars...

To open up, both are set with their Guardians of the Galaxy Lightning Lanes for their upcoming trip with Upon a Star Team! Then... the big news that Original Trilogy Star Wars is coming to Disneyland's Galaxy's Edge - Han, Luke, Leia, Vader, with John Williams music, as Disney seeks to redo a little theming and timelines in the SW areas.

Plus, a quick look at the sequel trilogy and why this move maybe should have been done years ago (we've been screaming it!)

Then, focusing on the Wizarding Worlds of Harry Potter in Universal Orlando!

We discuss our own relationships to the Potterverse - reading the books, watching the movies, and impressions on seeing the first Potter area in Islands of Adventure many years ago.  Then, a look at Hogsmeade, along with Hogwarts Castle and Hagrid's Motorbike Adventure over in Islands, then Diagon Alley, with Gringott's ride and Nocturn Alley in Universal Studios, and finally, the Parisian theming and the Ministry of Magic, plus the circus show and that French cafe that we forgot the name of, all over in Epic Universe.

It's not nearly as comprensive as it could be - that would take many hours - but it's a great overview of what you can expect at the Wizarding Worlds - plus how you can (and should) ride the Hogwarts Express!

Ep 251. The One with the Epic U Review

LISTEN TO THE SHOW HERE!

In the 251st episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave have been talking about it for what feels like years... Universal Orlando's new theme park - Epic Universe is a week from opening, and now, both Upon a Star Jenn and d$ have been. And they are here to talk all about it.

We break down Epic Universe, or at least talk about the breakdown of much of Epic (and it's habit of having rides not work) and go portal by portal - Isle of Burk, Dark Universe, Super Nintendo World, and of course, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

We give our feedback (the theming is out of this world) and the criticism (more shade!) on this epic Epic Epicsode... Episode.

Ep 237. The One with Big Families

PLAY THE EPISODE HERE!!!

In the 237th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave are here to talk about some of the biggest headlines to hit Disney news in a while.

Then, a look at the brand new Universal resort, Stella Nova, over next to Epic Universe -- and what exactly are those new categories for Universal resorts?

Disney also made a slight change to the Disability Pass Service - we take a look at it.

Then, Disney dropped on everyone that MuppetVision*3D will be closing in June -- and both of our co-hosts have thoughts, including the one group behind the scenes that really, really needs to up their game.

Finally -- what to do when you have a group headed to Disney larger than just 4 or 5? Those families with 6 or 7 or more, or groups with larger numbers looking for a resort. We've got you covered -- family suites, rooms with multiple bedrooms, the Treehouse, and much more, as they explain options to you... and what may not work for you either.

Then, the fate of Rip Ride Rockit at Universal, plus how Animal Kingdom's Boneyard can be saved.  Free Dining was announced recently, while Big Thunder Mountain and Gran Fiesta Tour are both closed for refurb - one with a much longer down time than the other.

To finally cap off the Christmas season, they give their thoughts on 2024's Jollywood Nights event and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, while Jenn chats about her New Years night spent in Epcot.

Then d$ shares a little about his travels to WDW, and why three of those vacation days were spent in the hospital - and the incredible respond of Disney.

Ep 180. The One with Magical Random Chatter

LISTEN TO THE SHOW HERE!!

In the 180th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave make it a free-for-all conversation.  A slow news week in the world of magic means the chat goes a little all over the place.

First, Jenn and Dave are both getting ready for trips to The Most Magical Place on Earth, as Dave is also headed to Universal Studios as well.  Dave also gives a review on the newest MCU film, "The Marvels."

Then, a quick look at the resorts of Universal, with d$ staying in Cabana Bay, and some talk about both of their upcoming trips.

There is a new promo that Jenn breaks down for everyone, there is a new character on property, and at some point, they even discuss the William Tell Overture.  Because of course they do.

Ep 173. The One with Roller Coasters... LIVE

LISTEN TO THE SHOW

In the 173rd episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave hit the YouTubes and go LIVE!

First up, Jenn is ready to travel again, while d$ is traveling as you hear this ep (provided you hear it within a few days of it dropping, anyway).  Then,
they discuss a few thoughts and predictions on Disney's announcement about spending upwards of $60 billion (with a B!) on parks and experiences in the coming years.

Finally, they revisit a topic that has become an annual list... the top ten roller coasters in Disney and Universal parks. Of course, they can only rank what they've done so far -- so that leaves out Universal Hollywood and overseas parks -- but they also review what their Top Ten looked like in previous years.

It's a LIVE show as featured on YouTube, so you get all the blunders and glitches that go with it, including some long awaited Patreon news!

Ep 170. The One with the Treasure Reveal

LISTEN TO THE SHOW HERE!!

In the 170th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave talk treasure!  Specifically -- The Disney Treasure, the latest ship in the Disney Cruise Line Fleet, setting sail in December 2024.

Before we get there, however, there is a brand new Dining Card Promotion that Disney suddenly dropped on everyone early in the day -- so Jenn & Dave break down all the details (and you can read the full details here!)

Then, they take a look at Halloween Horror Nights over at Universal Orlando, including getting your tickets, the importance of Express Pass, and all the Haunted Houses - and their own aversion to them.

Then, a good look at the Disney Treasure, which Disney revealed information about this past week -- the theming itself, what to expect, the bars and clubs and lounges, the restaurants, the unique things about the ship - and what will be similar to the Disney Wish, which is the Treasure's "Sister Ship"

Finally, both Jenn and Dave made a few predictions for this weekend's Destination D convention - new lands? new parks? ticketing changes? and maybe another Disney ship?
