Ep 233. The One with the Disney Treasure

LISTEN TO THE EPISODE HERE!!

In the 233rd episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave are finally back on the show!  After weeks of travel and meet-ups and trip hiccups and more, the hosts have hit the record button in their respective studios and are ready to talk some Disney travel -- more specifically, the newest Disney Cruise ship to set sail, the Disney Treasure.

First, a little Disney catch up, on Jenn being gone for weeks and d$ finishing up 10 days at WDW, then an update on the newest refurb dates for attractions like Gran Fiesta Tour, plus updated closing/opening dates for several other attractions - plus what will happen with the Skyliner?

Then, Jenn gives her report on the Disney Treasure, with so many of its features and surprises - the lounges, including the Haunted Mansion lounge (and its secret menu) and the Scat Cat lounge, themed after the Aristocats... the shows, including the new Moana stage show and speculation of it coming to Broadway... the restaurants, like the Coco experience and show... plus so much more than Jenn saw, and didn't have time to get to.

One more ep for 2024 coming up next week!

Ep 187. The One with 2023 in Review

LISTEN TO THE SHOW HERE!!!

In the 187 episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave are back for the first show of the new year!  And as per tradition, it's time to take one more look back at the year we just completed, with all of it's highs and lows.  And also per usual, to do that, we bring in our own Quasi-Producer, the Moana Mom herself, aka Heather Kondas!

First, a New Year's celebration wrap up -- where was everyone, how was the party in Epcot (for Jenn), how was seeing the fireworks from the back porch (for Heather) and how was enjoying the New Year's from the comfort of his own couch (d$)

Then, Heather is solving the Disney World's problems, with the parking debacle at Disney Springs on New Year's Eve, and a closer look at the big day that was January 9th, brining back the Disney Dining Plan, and dropping the Park Pass Reservations (and what APs are dealing with)

And next, a look back, starting in January 2023, with the closing of Splash Mountain, to the end of December, with the new Summer House on the Lake -- and all in between, including new meet'n greets... Disney and Pixar's latest flicks... Tron and Journey of Water both opening... the Starcruiser closing... the chaos around Annual Passes returning... the Hatbox Ghost... Bears in the Kingdom... and that guy who jumped into the Lagoon.  Don't do that.

Plus, a little emotion over Disney's best animated short in years.

Ep 171. The One with Destination D23

LISTEN TO THE SHOW HERE!!

In the 171st episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave cap off a busy week with a full recap of the Orlando version of the D23 Expo, this one called Destination D.

Jenn is trying to plan her own trip in between her busy schedule, while Dave has finished Bob Thomas' definitive Walt bio, "Walt Disney: An American Original", and then to remember 9/11, Dave shares the story of Disney World on the morning of Sept 11, 2001 - how the parks reacted, meeting with other parks, and Cast Members funneling all the guests out of the parks.

Then, they dive right into the D23 headlines and announcements, including Disneyland's new Avengers addition... Ahsoka coming to Star Tours... the possible confusion of Wish (the movie) and Wish (the ship)... Dave proudly announcing (again) that he predicted the new ship's name... DinoLand going extinct... rumors of Encanto and Indiana Jones... Moana's Journey of Water finally opening and thoughts on how people may get around... new fireworks...

Plus, a discussion of Country Bear Jamboree changes, Jenn's reaction to Tough to Be a Bug going away, and Dave's take on Magic Kingdom's (non) announcements.

Ep 167. The One with the Summer News and a Haunted Mansion Review

LISTEN TO THE SHOW!!!

In the 167th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave reunite on the show, as she's returned from her long cruise away (only to leave next week too!).

But in the meantime, they do a little catch up over the weeks, then dive into a bunch of random park news topics, including the opening of Minionland... the building of Dreamworks park area... the beginning of the Food & Wine Festival... the first night of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (and the sold-out days so far)... Disney Springs parking changes... and the Haunted Mansion closing--for two days.

Plus the update on the updated Dining systems at Disney World and Disneyland.

They do a little "will it open again" chat with various areas that haven't reopened yet, including Blizzard Beach and Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

Finally... Jenn saw a movie!  They both had the chance to see Disney's latest live action film "The Haunted Mansion", and they both give their take on the movie -- what worked (lots of Easter Eggs) and maybe what didn't (might be a tad too dark).

Ep 76. The One with Christine & Liberty Square

LISTEN TO THE SHOW HERE

In the 76th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave bring back friend of the show and frequent guest, author, podcaster, and Disney Mom Christine Fox!

Completing the "Christine in the Magic Kingdom" series (see also episodes 4, 34, and 58), Jenn, Dave, and Christine take a tour of Liberty Square -- including Haunted Mansion, Liberty Tree Tavern, Sleepy Hollow, and more... including why the Riverboat is vastly underrated, and Dave's mini rant on protestors at Hall of Presidents.

Then, as a bonus, the three finishes up the park with a podcast stroll down the middle of Main Street USA, rating the shops, the food, the confections, and much more.

It's always a great conversation when these three get together to talk Disney!!

030. The One with the Dreamfinder

On the 30th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave talk a little Disney with Haunted Mansion toys and Avenger Funkos...

Then they jump right in with Ron Schneider, the original Dreamfinder (and Figment's best friend) from Epcot.

The discussion range from the beginnings of Figment, being the man behind the curtain, working at Magic Mountain, opening day at Universal Studios, and why it may not be a good thing for the Dreamfinder to return.

Finally, Dave gives his own Parade worthy Magical Moment.
