Ep 278. The One with a Few (more) of Our Favorite Things

LISTEN TO THE SHOW!!!

In the 278th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave are wrapping up the year of podcast eps with the final (new) show of 2025!

This go around, they open up with Jenn returning back from a whirlwind weekend at WDW, while Dave recounts a story from his own family meeting Star Lord at Epcot.

The news gives the update on the Taylor Swift display in Hollywood Studios... Typhoon Lagoon closing and Blizzard Beach opening... Chef Art's Brunchmas... and charming little story about a couple spending their anniversaries at Disneyland - like, 70 of them...

Plus happy birthday Dick Van Dyke!

Then, in an update from our episode 82 in 2021, we look at the song "My Favorite Things", as sung by the immaculate Julie Andrews - and we give our favorite things - everything from places we want to return to and visit for the first time... favorite Disney dogs... snacks... pastas... where we'd be "basic"... where to get out of the rain... and even a little coffee talk.

Plus our usual random sidebars and asides as we chat a little Disney magic and why we love to travel and help others do the same.

Ep 240. The One with NO Virtual Queues

LISTEN TO THE SHOW HERE!!!

In the 240th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave are super happy about the fact we can all ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Tiana's Bayou Adventure as much as we want in a single day (of course, at the mercy of the lines...)

First, Jenn is preparing for her Wish trip in a few days, while d$ is not only looking forward to his Disney Fantasy cruise in March, but also, gives a full review of "Captain America: Brave New World" -- the good and the not quite as good.

Then, a quick look at some of the just-released itineraries for Disney Cruise Line in Summer 2026.

And finally, they chat about Disney dropping Virtual Queue lines and allowing standby for Guardians and Tiana, and what it means for YOUR trip -- doing rope drops now, how those on the DAS Pass are affected, Lightning Lanes, and why this is all a fantastic thing!

The ENCORE with the Guardians Soundtrack

Hear the Guardians ENCORE here!!!

It's ENCORE Week here at The Main Street Electrical Podcast, as we are serving up 5 of our fave episodes from the past year -- hear it for the first time, or hear it again!

Our first ENCORE is the one where Kyla came on and we discussed re-doing the soundtrack to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind -- the episode was originally released on May 23rd, 2024, as Episode 206!

-------------------------

First up, Jenn is getting ready for her trip, Kyla is spending a fortune on passes,

Retheming Rock'n Roller Coaster and why rock bands may not work... The best Beatle, the worst Beatle, and who finds them overrated... an early look at the "Disney Dreams that Soar" drone show over Disney Springs waters... and a party date sells out.

And finally, the Guardians playlist played in the ride includes:

  • "One Way or Another" by Blondie
  • "Conga" by Gloria Estefan & the Miami Sound Machine
  • "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears
  • "Disco Inferno" by The Trammps
  • "I Ran" by Flock of Seagulls
  • "September" by Earth, Wind, And Fire

And the challenge is... which songs should stay? Which songs should go? Dave, Jenn, and Kyla all pitch in ideas of what should be removed and what should replace it - bands like Van Halen, Heart, and Queen all get nods, as well as slower rock and even some EDM (thanks Kyla)

Plus, find out why Kyla doesn't like "September" at all!  And what song is "Sandstorm"?

Ep 210. The One with All the Epcot

 LISTEN TO THE SHOW!!

In the 210th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn and Dave finally reunite on the show!  Jenn is back from her overseas world travels, while Dave is just back from his weekend with his 12yo, and both have a few things to share -- more on both trips in coming episodes.

And because the subject is Epcot today, coming back into the studio is third co-host #KylaKylaKyla (ready for her own trip!) and Vlogger, Influencer, and showman THE Derek Frank (on location in Iowa!), and the foursome are here to chat all the Epcot stuff.

First, a quick look at the newest Disney change, as Genie+ is set to go away, to be replaced by Multi Pass and Single Pass and all the Pass.

Then, now that the Epcot walls are finally down, we all give our thoughts on all the new things we've gotten in the last few years... and the things we didn't get. Mary Poppins, anyone?

Wrapping up the series from the last few weeks, the crew looks at all the attractions in Epcot, from the newest like Remy and Guardians to the classics like Figment and Spaceship Earth -- what gets a "LOVE IT!", what gets a "LIKE IT", and what ends up in the "Meh" pile.

And finally... Jenn, d$, Kyla, and Derek all give their 1, 2, 3, and 4 rankings of the Epcot festivals.

This is a great ep of conversation for any Epcot fan!

Ep 206. The One with the Guardians Soundtrack

In the 206th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave take on one of the best rides in Epcot -- Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind... but not just the ride, but the music itself!

Joining Dave & Jenn is the unofficial 3rd co-host #KylaKylaKyla, aka Kyla Melberg, as she has lots of thoughts on the musical choices for the ride.

Ep 173. The One with Roller Coasters... LIVE

LISTEN TO THE SHOW

In the 173rd episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave hit the YouTubes and go LIVE!

First up, Jenn is ready to travel again, while d$ is traveling as you hear this ep (provided you hear it within a few days of it dropping, anyway).  Then,
they discuss a few thoughts and predictions on Disney's announcement about spending upwards of $60 billion (with a B!) on parks and experiences in the coming years.

Finally, they revisit a topic that has become an annual list... the top ten roller coasters in Disney and Universal parks. Of course, they can only rank what they've done so far -- so that leaves out Universal Hollywood and overseas parks -- but they also review what their Top Ten looked like in previous years.

It's a LIVE show as featured on YouTube, so you get all the blunders and glitches that go with it, including some long awaited Patreon news!

Harmonious/Enchantment/KiteFails... Tron and Guardians... Magic Band + and the many issues with Genie+... plus so much more to discuss.

Plus, an update on Jenn, who is finally moved into her new home, and Heather, who is even more moved in... and of course, d$ has new Legos.

Ep 131. The One with Pixar Movies

LISTEN TO THE SHOW HERE

In the 131st episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave are excited to talk all about Pixar movies!  First, both lament about the upcoming winter, and then more about the upcoming Disney group trip.

Then, they clear up the latest in the "Disney Ticket Increase", and explain whats what in the misleading headlines.

Guardians Holiday kicks off soon, Starcruiser wins an award, and more guest behaving stupidly.

Then, Jenn & Dave look at the 26 Pixar movies that have been released, with Dave having seen all of them, and Jenn having seen 21 of the 26, they both start at 20 and rank their Pixar movies all the way to number one.

Lots of crossover, lots of discussion on how Covid affected films, and how "Soul" might be the biggest movie loss in the pandemic.
