Ep 284. The One with the Disneyland CEOs

LISTEN TO THE SHOW!!

In the 284th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave are once again putting on their CEO hats, now turning their new found (if only imaginary) powers to Disney World West... that of course being Disneyland!

And to do so, they invite in (for their fourth appearance) Friends of the Show and the hosts of the popular Skywalking Through Neverland podcast, Rich & Sarah! First, their take on both Josh D'Amaro becoming the new Head Cheese for Disney, and then their thoughts on Disneyland's Star Wars Galaxy's Edge.

Then... what happens if Josh calls us all up and tells us that we are the new CEOs of Disneyland Resort? We can't plunk down a new land or a big ride in the middle of the park, but overall, we can do what we want to make the parks even better!

Including ideas from rare characters to updated After Dark parties to a Tiki Room feast to getting rid of the noxious fumes at Autopia.

Also, maybe we should get rid of the bottlenecked crowds (mostly made up of teens on their phones) with the new Move Along Cast Members...

Make sure to listen to Skywalking Through Neverland every week on all your fave pod places!

Ep 283. The One with the new Disney Era

In the 283rd episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave are ready to usher in the new leadership era of Walt Disney Company because... It's a Great Big Beautiful D'Amaro!

First up, Jenn is getting ready for an upcoming cruise - but she's still at home for a while... and Dave gives his full review of the new Muppet Show episode on Disney+, also revealing his love of Sabrina Carpenter.

Then, a look at the Disney Flag Retreat and a salute to 101 year old Herb Maneloveg, a veteran and American hero!

Finally... the news of the week, as Josh D'Amaro is appointed CEO of The Walt Disney Company, while Dana Walden takes on the newly created role of President and Chief Creative Officer, so we do a deep dive.  We take a look at the resumes of each, where they come from,
experiences and previous roles, including Dana's "Jerry Maguire Moment" and how she had a hand in creating the modern "binge-worthy" trend, and Josh's part in Pandora in Animal Kingdom and being so Cast Member friendly.

Ep 217. The One with D23

LISTEN TO THE SHOW HERE!

In the 217th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave are super pumped about the weekend that was -- the D23: Ultimate Fan Event has concluded, and there is SO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT.

So much, in fact, that the entire podcast crew is here -- #KylaKylaKyla and Quasi Producer Heather, aka The Moana Mom, joins Jenn & Dave to discuss everything.

From the top of the show, with Patrick giving an intro, we cover overseas parks, the confusion of Fortnite, all the new ships coming, Avengers stuff in Disneyland, Coco getting a ride, and even Avatar. And crying over Walt.

Then, we take a long look at Walt Disney World, from the expected updates (Indiana Jones... confirmed! Encanto... confirmed!) and the surprises (Monsters Inc?! Cars?!) to the delights (new nighttime parade), and of course... the villains.

Also, how we all feel about losing Tom Sawyer Island as well as DinoLand, what Disney did right and what they may have missed during the weekend, and Jenn's super joy about losing the Bugs.

Ep 138. The One with Disney Surprises

LISTEN TO THE SHOW HERE!!!

In the 138th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn and Dave are trying to catch their breath from a solid day of announcements and headlines that hit on Tuesday... so they break down ALL the Disney Surprises tossed at us in a single day!

First, Dave continues to sing the praise of the Captain America trilogy and Jenn continues to not have seen them, and they dive right into the stories of the day...

Tron Lightcycle has an opening date!  And a new theory on when Annual Passes may return.

Happily Ever After is returning! Disney Enchantment is going away!  We compare the two, and discuss Epcot Forever's return, and why Epcot HarmonioUS couldn't get over Stargate and Taco Barges

Disneyland moving its Park Hopping times to earlier in the day, and could that -- plus AP holders getting a benefit on park hopping too -- translate to Disney World?

The parking is now complimentary again, and why this is a huge deal!

And the Disney Dining promo, how it breaks down, and what it all means.

Finally, Adventures by Disney River Cruises!

Plus, a total rabbit trail on Voyage of the Little Mermaid, what could go in that space, and more randomness as we are known for.

Ep 127. The One with the Disney Villains Park

LISTEN TO THE SHOW HERE!!

In the 127th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave cannot start the show and it's Quasi Producer Heather, aka Upon a Star Heather, aka The Moana Mom, joining Dave, since Upon a Star Jenn is literally in Mexico (at a conference) as we record.

First up, a little Disney'ing by wearing vintage shirts and new Disney PJ pants, plus Heather remembers to book her own room for a trip upcoming.

Then, sorting through the news and rumors including a possible canceled pavilion (rumor) and a princess breakfast returning (fact), we also take a look at five still-closed attraction and experiences, and weigh in on whether they will return or not.

And then, we harken back to D23 when Josh D'Amaro dared to dream and tell us, the rabid Disney fans, that maybe someday maybe, Disney will take a look at what "lies beyond Big Thunder Mountain" -- and then he mentioned the magic word... "Villains".

So tonight, we build our own Villains Land in Magic Kingdom with each giving their ideas of the Disney Big Bads who could lead their own rides, shows, restaurants and more.  From Henchmen dancing to a speeding carpet through the streets of Agrabah to a Fantasia ride... a scary Fantasia ride.

Hope you enjoy our suggestions for how we'd build this land, and we'd love to hear your own!

Ep 73. The One with the 50th Recap

 LISTEN TO THE SHOW HERE!!

In the 73rd episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave have returned from the event 50 years in the making -- the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World!

They both were amongst some of their favorite people, two of which join the show to discuss the weekend, with quasi producer Heather, aka The Moana Mom, and fellow agent and Disney Mom, Disney Geek Kyla

The foursome discuss a little quick news - the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser news, new Magicbands, and other fun things, then dive right in to a full review of the weekend.

They give their thoughts on both Magic Kingdom's and Epcot's new nighttime fireworks shows... Space 220 dining... Remy's Ratatouille Adventure... plus a play by play recap of the 3a (we must be lonely) arrival at the Magic Kingdom line, complete with the Inflatable Chair Mafia blow up chairs, Kyla's popcorn regrets, Space 220, Heather's big D'Amaro moments, and so much more.

And Kyla's review of Animal Kingdom's KiteTails, which itself is worth the entire show.

It's a longer show this time, but full of stories from four people who LOVE the Disney Magic.

 LISTEN TO THE SHOW HERE

In the 27th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave share some happy Disney'ing with a Haunted Mansion surprise and some sad Disney'ing with a canceled trip.

Then, a look at the new stemming from the recent IAPAA conference... the Grand Californian partially reopening... Guardians rewind... and the Orlando Strike Team visits Disney World for a surprise inspection.

Then Dave & Jenn give their rating on various quick services across WDW property -- from Flametree to Landscape of Flavors.  Jenn gives her love to Columbia Harbour House, Dave overrates both Cosmic Rays and Pecos Bills, the hidden gem that is Polite Pig, and a long lost Hidden Mickey at the Polynesian.
