Ep 225. The One with Bougie & Budget Swag

 LISTEN TO THE EP HERE!!

In the 225th episode The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave are carefully watching Hurricane Milton as it rolls through the gulf (at the time of recording).

In this episode, they do a recap of WDW and Universal closings (as of Wednesday afternoon) and what to watch for during the hurricane.  Also, check out Ep 223, when they do talk hurricane prep at Disney!

Then, both discuss some of the work done as Travel Advisors to help clients adjust their trips for this week.

The Lightning McQueen Racing Academy has closed, so that does deserve a mention... then, a look at the new Cake Bake Shop and bakery opening up at Boardwalk some time in the near future -- and the menu that has been revealed. And the insane pricing, of which both Jenn & Dave have a theory on.

Finally, a look at some of the experiences you can do, and swag you can take home, whether you have lots of money to plunk down... or just a little.

You can spend a ton of money at the Boutique, or bring your own dresses. Drop a couple a'hunna for a saber... or spend $35 on a smaller version.  Designer ears vs regular ears, Avatar figures and mini figures and more, as they take a look at souvenirs you can pick up for a little or a lot!

In the 224th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave ask the hard hitting questions... like, would you rather be stuck on It's a Small World for 3 hours, with the music looping... or stuck on Frozen Ever After for 3 hours, with Elsa singing "Let It Go" -- this is our round of "Would You Rather"!

First... Jenn is renewing while Dave is setting up his 2nd annual Father/Son Disney trip for next summer.

Then, a look at the new promos that just dropped for Disney, and all the savings that come with it.

And then, a series of "Would You Rather..." questions... choosing between Club 33 and the Cinderella Royal Suite... Mr Toad or Splash... 24 hours in a park... free snacks or no lines... and what Jenn will - and won't - do for free Guardians.

And finally, would you rather be at Disneyland opening day, or Walt Disney World's opening day... opening attractions at Magic Kingdom and Epcot... and the E-Ticket books.

Ep 222. The One with Empty Spaces in the Park

LISTEN TO THE SHOW!!!

In the 222nd episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave are joined again by fan favorite Kyla, as they get their Taylor Swift on and address Disney's "Blank Spaces".

First up, Jenn uncovered a treasure trove of Disney swag in her closets, while Dave is chasing some movie goals and catching up on some Disney films on his to-be-watched list.

Then, the trio chats about the RUMOR (only just RUMOR) that Universal may get rid of their Marvel rights, and what Disney might do with it were they to get it. RUMOR!!

Finally, Dave, Jenn, & Kyla look around the WDW Resort and address four glaringly empty (or may become empty) spots -- the old DisneyQuest building, Epcot's Wonders of Life pavilion, Hollywood Studios' Launch Bay, and the empty round theater of Stitch's Great Escape and Alien Encounter -- and do a little Blue Sky dreaming about what might go in each of those.

From character meet n greet spots to Disney history walkthroughs to shows to theater shows and much more, as we let the creative juices flow.

Thanks for listening!!!

Then they chat about the new details of the Disney Destiny, lamenting that it's Fort Lauderdale bound, the Heroes vs Villains concept, and what the new ship's names might be.

Ep 214. The One with Being Stuck on a Disney Ride

HEAR THE EPISODE HERE!!

In the 214th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave are back together again on the mic, as Jenn's world travels finally stop... for now, anyway.

And back on the show again is our own Quasi-Producer Heather, aka The Moana Mom!

First, Heather is always at Disney, Jenn is drinking the coffee, and Dave is running (walking) the 5Ks this summer.  Jenn and Heather gives the update on the Disney Destiny, while Genie+ is gone, Multi Pass is here!

Then, by request of our wonderful listener Rory in PA, we discuss rides to get stuck on.  And by "stuck", we mean ALL day... what attractions would you be fine with spending the day on, especially if it kept running? And what rides would be terrible, maybe disastrous for hours on end?

Plus, more proof that Heather does in fact love hippos.

In the news, the Country Bears officia
lly re-opens, while Disneyland turns 69, and we are a week away from Genie+ going away and Multi Pass and Single Pass rolling in.

Then, your hosts have a fun discussion on all the merits, travails, details and magic of taking a solo parenting trip with your kids.

Kyla has a tween and a kid, while Dave has an ASD 12yo, so both have different perspectives on traveling to WDW, picking a resort, choosing dining, and the key fumbles Dave made in his travels... the shoes!?  The toothbrush!? The medicine!!

Ep 210. The One with All the Epcot

 LISTEN TO THE SHOW!!

In the 210th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn and Dave finally reunite on the show!  Jenn is back from her overseas world travels, while Dave is just back from his weekend with his 12yo, and both have a few things to share -- more on both trips in coming episodes.

And because the subject is Epcot today, coming back into the studio is third co-host #KylaKylaKyla (ready for her own trip!) and Vlogger, Influencer, and showman THE Derek Frank (on location in Iowa!), and the foursome are here to chat all the Epcot stuff.

First, a quick look at the newest Disney change, as Genie+ is set to go away, to be replaced by Multi Pass and Single Pass and all the Pass.

Then, now that the Epcot walls are finally down, we all give our thoughts on all the new things we've gotten in the last few years... and the things we didn't get. Mary Poppins, anyone?

Wrapping up the series from the last few weeks, the crew looks at all the attractions in Epcot, from the newest like Remy and Guardians to the classics like Figment and Spaceship Earth -- what gets a "LOVE IT!", what gets a "LIKE IT", and what ends up in the "Meh" pile.

And finally... Jenn, d$, Kyla, and Derek all give their 1, 2, 3, and 4 rankings of the Epcot festivals.

This is a great ep of conversation for any Epcot fan!

Ep 206. The One with the Guardians Soundtrack

Listen to the Show Here!!

In the 206th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave take on one of the best rides in Epcot -- Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind... but not just the ride, but the music itself!

Joining Dave & Jenn is the unofficial 3rd co-host #KylaKylaKyla, aka Kyla Melberg, as she has lots of thoughts on the musical choices for the ride.

First up, Jenn is getting ready for her trip, Kyla is spending a fortune on passes,

Retheming Rock'n Roller Coaster and why rock bands may not work... The best Beatle, the worst Beatle, and who finds them overrated... an early look at the "Disney Dreams that Soar" drone show over Disney Springs waters... and a party date sells out.

And finally, the Guardians playlist played in the ride includes:

  • "One Way or Another" by Blondie
  • "Conga" by Gloria Estefan & the Miami Sound Machine
  • "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears
  • "Disco Inferno" by The Trammps
  • "I Ran" by Flock of Seagulls
  • "September" by Earth, Wind, And Fire

And the challenge is... which songs should stay? Which songs should go? Dave, Jenn, and Kyla all pitch in ideas of what should be removed and what should replace it - bands like Van Halen, Heart, and Queen all get nods, as well as slower rock and even some EDM (thanks Kyla)

Plus, find out why Kyla doesn't like "September" at all!  And what song is "Sandstorm"?
